Moonlit badger

The lovely ceramics tutor Kathleen dropped off my plate and I love it! I shaped the plate and used a technique called 'sgraffito' to make the design. I did this by painting on the coloured glaze, letting it dry then using a small tool to scrape away the white lines. I think I got a bit carried away with the depth as the lines should/could have been much shallower... but for a first go I love it! It's got a stylised look which is just what I was going for fortunately :-)

The finished plate is quite bumpy, so it'd more of a display plate or for occasional use than for chips and egg  I reckon.
