Sunny Sunday

It was a day of parts. I tried the cycle track to work to see if it was clear of snow and ice. There are some bad patches so I tried a different route home. It turns out that was far worse. I was desperately trying to hold my nerve and not turn the wheel a fraction, but then I got caught out and fell down. A bit of a grazed hip, swelling and bruising, but really I was very lucky and I walked quite a few icy stretches after that. At least I didn't turn up to work in that state! So I'll be driving till the ice clears.
At lunch we made a picnic and walked down to the lake to eat it on a bench in the sunshine. We had guests coming for dinner so we were busy with preparations for that in the afternoon. After 4pm we went out again for another short walk to see the sunset which was spectacular as first the snowy mountains to the north glowed, followed by the sky to the east, then south and finally west.
Fish pie and lemon fudge puddings went down a treat tonight. Worth the effort.
