Tiny Tuesday ...

... Dark-eyed Junco.

Based on the coloring of this dark-eyed junco I'd guess that she's female.  The males are much darker gray.

We had quite the wind storm roll through last night and when we got up this morning we found the last big branch from the birch tree was broken off ... see extra photo.  Over the past several years we have been losing branch after branch from this birch tree.  And as you can see from the extra photo there isn't much left.  We will eventually need to cut most ... if not all ... of it down but for now we will leave it alone as the birds and squirrels love it. Unfortunately birch trees don't have a very long life span and are susceptible to diseases and pests. We've treated this tree but it's still a goner!
