Christmas is coming.

An unusual Saturday!  We didn't need to go to the Lodge, nobody no in residence until Christmas and the New Year.  It made quite a change as we have had people in every week since things started to relax in April.

When I was young we didn't start Christmas until the 24th.  Then decorations went up and the tree was decorated.   Our decorations stayed up until one day after 12th night.  Why?  It was Mum's birthday and she liked to keep the decorations up for that.  Now it all seems to start in August.   For me, it somehow takes some of the sparkle and excitement away.

As we will be going down to Sheffield (omicron permitting) we are going to put up the decorations soon.  Having spent the day quietly around home I was wondering about a blip.  Then I noticed this decoration which we hang against the glass of the door, so the light shines through.
