Call Machine

Second in a series of old things you find in bars.  This is an example of the once ubiquitous public phone box that was in every bar and restaurant in Spain not so many years ago.   You slipped your coins in a slot and pressed a few buttons, before speaking into a handset that lifted from a bracket and which was connected to the mother machine by a curly cord.   The coins never lodged first time but fell with a clatter into a little concealed tray which you had to fish out with your fingers as you wedged the handset into the crook of your neck. This one still works, apparently,  but the mistletoe on top suggests that it's not used that often!

In other news, I got my third vaccination today…Moderna on top of my two previous AZ. No effects yet….writing this from the 12th.
