The Alone

Pronounced a-LOW-nay, this is minor tributary of the Arno that flows through the settlement with the confluence with the Arno of Corsalone.

I only became aware of it when looking for the local vaccine centre.

This pool is called The Lion’s Well.

It’s lovely to see the torrents in their wintery vigour after so much drought. The water has a crispness that looks almost glacial.
