Sharing is Caring
My son Marc messaged me today to ask if I still had any German recipes his Dad used when we had an organic bakery in Moniaive many moons ago.
I told him I still have the actual book which I bought in Germany when he was about 3, so he asked me to take some photos of the recipes most frequently used. I offered to translate them for him but he wants to try himself and then try a recipe. I hope it turns out for him, the boost would do him good.
The translated Stollen recipe is below, at the end.
Last night after the concert I was so tired but when we went to bed I couldn’t get to sleep for ages even though I read a few pages but I felt a bit cold. The heating had been off in the bedroom while I had aired it in the morning and I forgot to turn it back on. We don’t like the bedroom really warm but just the chill taken off.
Today a jumper I ordered for Frank arrived. This is the 2nd one I have ordered for him, the first - a Land’s end fleecy one - was far too short in the body when I measured it against another and todays - from Rapanui - was too small all over! I actually got him to try it on. Silly sizing.
Anyway, I parcelled it back up and I had to write out the returns label address and barcode numbers as instructed as we don’t have a printer. Got to the Post Office and the woman said she couldn’t take it as there was no barcode! I explained to her what the instructions said and she told me I would have to go to one of the main PO’s. So Frank took me to Settle - only to find the PO closed! No wonder this country's in the state it’s in. Returns are also Freepost but by the time we’ve driven to Settle and Skipton on Monday it will hardly be free! Grrrrr!
Frank is out doing his 2nd stint at the village variety show so I am having a quiet night in.
I’m just about to watch some ‘Britain’s Most Historic Towns’ with Prof Alice Roberts. I love history programmes. Strange because I hated History at school, well to be honest there wasn’t much I did like at school.
I shall also have a sherry and some Mon Cheri cherry liqueur chocs which just happen to be vegan. I got them in B&M and I love them.
So cheers to a good Saturday night.
