Starlight

The use of LED lighting has certainly reduced the need to replace light "bulbs" in Christmas Decoration Fittings.

However, a 20 year old IKEA hanging star was plugged in and did not light. It was a traditional tungsten bulb and I suspect it was the original.

IKEA tend to use Edison Screw fittings rather than bayonet. Also this particular decoration uses the small version of the Edison screw.

Amazon to the rescue and a new LED lamp is now installed and the star has been reassembled and shines brightly.

The curious "clock hands" effect is caused by ridges and valleys in the metal fittings.

After several hours of hanging this, trimming that and all the other activities that decorating entails we had just settled down when we had a phone call from Roland B, daughter C and son M.

They are also decorating their home and C gave us a guided tour through the various rooms showing their efforts.

M who is 10 has become quite the technology expert and started comparing notes with me on our Ring Alarm systems.

The family are booked to travel to Germany by Ferry to see their relations, but that is now looking uncertain.

Will we all get together over the festive season? That is also looking uncertain.

Once again stable doors swinging in the wind and apocalypse horses dashing throughout the realm come to mind.
