Black-Eyed Peas

Black-eyed pea stew with bacon, and tomatoes with fleur de sel. Dessert: Raymond-Lafon Sauternes 1989.

This is, by far, the oldest Sauternes I've had. It had lovely sherry notes. I'm surprised to realize it is not the oldest dessert wine I've had this year (which honor goes to a 1983 Port). A decadent year.
