A journey in time

It was a lovely morning in London. And so quiet; buses were almost empty, streets were easily walkable. The British Museum was just as it should be - a fair amount of people looking around purposefully and plenty of empty space and seats.

One of the things we really wanted to do whilst in London was to visit the Peru exhibition that is currently at the British Museum. I had booked us in for 10am, as it opened, and it was a delight to walk round without lots of people in the way. The exhibition is excellent, well-laid out with just enough information. It reminded Gordon of his past studies and reminded us both of a wonderful trip we made to Peru a while back. Our only ever guided trip, it was amazing and this exhibition brought back many memories. But the exhibition is much more than Incas and Machu Picchu, it tells the story of many centuries of Peruvian people, their lives and beliefs and their present-day legacy.

I had to include as an extra the tiny gold llama especially for Elizabeth https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2914141202984996266
Only 6cm high, it was made at the time of the Incas by hammering thirteen individual pieces of gold sheet into the final wrought figure.

Tonight we are meeting up with our youngest daughter and her husband for a meal at our favourite Italian restaurant.
