Stanley Ferry
After a morning spent cleaning, I drove Mr C to The Eye Clinic at Pinderfields Hospital for more in-depth eye scans.
So instead of waiting in the car park I decided to drive to the nearby Stanley Ferry, ( see map) and go for a walk along the canal which is part of the Aire and Calder Navigation.
A really beautiful day. Clear blue sky and sunshine, but a bit nippy. (Not easy driving.)
A real variety of boats. Some small and some very large.
I got talking to a couple who were putting a Christmas tree up outside their boat.
Helped them put a few baubles on.
The boat is their permanent home, as are most of the boats which were moored up.
Seems very romantic living on a houseboat, but not sure it would suit me.
They did have a car though.
After about an hour I got a call from Mr C to say he was ready. So a quick walk back to the car, and picked him up about 4 minutes later.
Back home in no time despite the M62 being busy.
Enjoying a cuppa before I go to collect fish and chips ( + mushy peas)
It will then be a cosy night in by the fire.
