Damaged goods

So, yesterday we signed the contract for our new car. The arrangement was to pick it up on Monday. This morning just before 9 AM we received a call from the car sales yard to tell us that one of their staff had damaged our car while reversing out of a carport!! They sent us a photo of the damage.

Now the problem is this that this is a brand-new model, very recently arrived in Australia. The likelihood of there being spare parts already available seemed to be very low. The likelihood of a replacement vehicle was nil. However, the good news is that a couple of hours later the salesperson we have been dealing with rang to say there are spare parts already available and that arrangements had been made to have the vehicle repaired by mid next week. We will then go and inspect it and only then make the decision about whether to go ahead with the purchase.

Honestly, you wouldn't read about it!
