Christening my early Christmas present

An addition to my Le Creuset pan collection was on my Christmas list and it arrived yesterday. Today my new braiser was put to use making a Vegetarian Shepherd's Pie. It was the perfect pan for the meal. Previously I have used a Dutch oven, which works but is really too deep. The braiser pan is advertised as an everyday pan, and I can see that it will be used often. The pie was delicious, the recipe called for plain, Greek yogurt instead of milk in the mashed potatoes and we really liked the texture and flavor.

This day came in with a coating of glistening light snow, our first slight accumulation. It was sunny and all sparkles everywhere.
