Beecham's Clock

The clock is a landmark in our town of St Helens, although Beecham's closed here in the 1990s.
I took advantage of a good few hours without rain - pegged out washing, walked to town, walked to Terry's shop then got the bus home.
I have a wrist problem at present - painful right wrist and thumb, swelling on wrist - difficult to use the hand. I am definitely falling apart!
Talking to my daughter on the phone this afternoon and she has the very same problem at present. Crazy.
The rain was back mid-afternoon and it's still raining. We have another flood alert for the town. Yesterday 2 cars were stuck in 3 feet of water unde the bridge near Saints' Stadium - this location floods often and deeply - there are barriers, lights and warnings but it seems the barriers are pointless. 2 people had to be rescued from their vehicle by the fire brigade. I don't know if the barriers failed or if the drivers drove around the barriers - drivers have done this before!
