Space Oddity at Harner Farm

It was a day that featured the making of a homemade apple pie in the morning; a nice, hot lunch at Couch's; and a hike around Whipple Dam in the afternoon, with the thrill of spotting a bald eagle flying overhead!

But the strangest thing I saw was this: a green alien in a space suit at the little farm shop run by Harner Farm. My husband stopped for gas at the Exxon at Cato Park, and I ran across the street to snap a few photos.

There was a playground game we used to play as children called Spaceman. One person would be "It." The others would chant, "Spaceman, Spaceman, came from Mars, may we chase you to the stars?"

And the "Spaceman" who was "it" would say, "Yes, if you have _______." And would name a color. And if you were wearing any item of clothing with that color on, you were allowed to be part of the chase!

More currently, though, this is what the scene reminded me of: here's David Bowie, with Space Oddity.
