Going, going, gone!
Off sharpish to Culross this morning to witness the demise of the Big Lum.
We were not really surprised at the crowd gathered on the promenade but we did see a few who seemed to be not bothered and looked a bit annoyed at the crowds getting in their way.
Anyway, 8:55 and the siren sounded followed after a few minutes by puffs of smoke all up the chimney. The Lum started to crumble and it seemed that it was all over by the time the bangs reached us. These explosions were quite loud but we were surprised by the volume of the echoes which rumbled on for quite a few seconds. Bet that rattled a few windows in Bo’ness!
Today’s extra is the sunrise from Culross this morning. A glorious start to the day.
