Love and Joy Come To You...

...And To You Glad Christmas Too...

I was sitting by the fire, enjoying my Christmas tree and looking out at the newly fallen snow..and what to my wondering eyes did appear? Carollers! tumbling out of cars...right in front of my house...what is going on? and then a familiar face...

Rob...and his wife Robin! ...of course! Our former neighbours...and they have brought a whole entourage of singers from their local church to sing carols to my next door neighbour Lois!  What a heart-warming gesture on such a cold night!

And I do mean heart-warming. Rob and Robin were the perfect neighbours, kind and caring. Rob would shovel your driveway before you even woke up, bring in your garbage bins when you weren't looking, and most of all he kept a close eye on and helped out Lois and her husband Irv who were both frail and just couldn't do a lot of things for themselves anymore. When they had to move away, it was our loss. And here they were, back again to bring a little joy to the neighbourhood..... and especially to Lois.... 

It has been a tough year for Lois and her family. Irv died recently and one of their sons and his wife decided to move home to Ontario to live with her and take care of her so she could stay in the house. It has been quite an adjustment for everyone and I am sure they needed  a little perk right about now...a little love and joy and hopefully a glad Christmas too...

There are some very good people in this world..and they Came a-Carolling tonight...
