Life in a Northern Town

Scone With the Wind

Of course that terrible pun (which was courtesy of Mr kagsy65) only works if you say "scone" in the correct way. But if you rhyme it with "bone" you're wrong anyway.....

I finally, finally got my scone and clotted cream. My intention was for this shot to have Plymouth Sound and Drake's Island in the background, but it was a tough call - really I needed to take the plate down to the seafront rather than try from the balcony, but my willing assistant became less willing to be seen in public holding up a plate with a scone on it while her mother mucked about with aperture settings.

Today, we shopped, watched Tom Daley practise diving, ate pasties, went tobogganing (that was amazing fun, anyone who ever takes a trip to Plymouth, I heartily recommend a visit to the dry ski run), and we are now plotting a walk on The Hoe with fish and chips. I think we whetted the seagulls' appetites by waving that scone around - I hope they don't get their revenge later.

Diet starts next week.

A glorious, sunny day in Devon, I hope everyone has had similarly lovely days.
