Regrets

I confess that I took this on Friday but I didn’t take anything today and it has been a better fit for today. I’ve passed this poor old vdub lots of times and love it but have never had the chance to blip it - it’s gradually composting.

After work I took some more stuff over. There was another power cut and I was glad to get back home to the comfort of my fire as the wind whipped up. I know it’s not very environmentally friendly but there’s no denying it’s warmth, company and comfort. I sorted the stuff by torchlight and sat on the top stair and all I could hear was the background drone of the A66. I’m hoping it was the wind direction. I had taken my work laptop over to test it out but had to shelve that idea and am relieved to be able to return to my connection here. Yesterday I drove past the house that I had backed out of earlier this year because my landlord had indicated that he would be prepared to sell. I’ve since found out that it sold for almost 20K less than it had been pushed up to in a bit of a bidding war at the time. In the meantime, the one next door has barely had a day empty as an airb&b and was up for sale just a bit too soon and I found it hard to contemplate being next door to our home here but it was 10K cheaper and better situation overall.
Oh well. It is what it is ... I can’t imagine how anyone survives living rough in these conditions.

On a happier note my first submission for the course that I did last year has passed muster. Phew.
