Historic find

We went along to mum’s to find she’d been clearing out a pile of books - mostly atlases and road map books but in amongst them there were several papers. Mostly rubbish except for this one which turns out to be a copy of the first ever edition of the Daily Express published on 14th April 1900. It’s full of fascinating bits about the 2nd Boer War including a report about boxes of bones being collected from the battlefield and taken for drying before being sold!
We have no idea where it came from as my grandparents only bought the house in the early 50’s and the paper obviously predates that by 50 years!
