My Dear Princess and Dear Friends,
Dunedin install day two went a lot smoother than day one and I feel like I added a bit of slimy value in spinning things so that we came out looking like heroes.
(In actuality there was a bit of an eff-up but I'm never going to throw someone under the bus, so instead I explained it in terms of supply chain issues blah blah logistics blah blah, don't worry we'll come back and sort it out next year blah blah).
It's a skill. I'm not proud of it. But BS comes in useful at times like these.
The bottom line is that the local area office staff think we are WONDERFUL and of course we are, so who am I hurting here, really?
April and I had some fun during the testing of the kit. Here she is, making the most of her long dark hair by re-enacting a key scene from the film, "Ring".
"She's terrifying," I told El Jefe who was on the line testing with us. "I think some wee came out."
So we knocked off and left the Dunedin office on a high. April was really tired so she went straight back to the hotel for a nap. I took a walk instead, but kind of wished I hadn't. Dunedin is not my favourite place. It has touches of its Scottish colonist heritage - grand old buildings that wouldn't be out of place on West Register Street, but they sit alongside shabby old shops, and the sense of a town in serious decline.
It's like a cross between Edinburgh and Scunthorpe. Is what I am trying to say.
Then I went back to the hotel to watch, "A Quiet Place Part II" projected onto the wall. There was no WAY I was going to put "Ring" on.
