But no kingfisher!

I was told that there is a kingfisher often to be seen along the river which runs alongside a beach I often go to.  So yesterday, between heavy showers, I went to look for him.

I had to wait in the car for the rain to stop but did manage a beach walk in the sun -- though there was a strong icy wind.  I walked along the river at the end of the beach searching for the kingfisher.  But he wasn't there.  The low angle of the bright sunlight made the ordinary look special.  I liked the 'layers' in this photo.
