Southampton Civic Centre

I went to a meeting in Southampton today for volunteers interested in researching material for an exhibition of slavery and it’s links to Southampton. It was a wet morning but the guildhall looked very imposing in the grey weather as I passed by on my way to the meeting. The meeting was interesting and myself and two friends are enthusiastic about researching women’s role in slavery in Southampton, as slaves, slave owners and in anti slavery movements in Southampton. Looking forward to getting started!
