Wren in the Grass

I stuck my nose outside briefly to take a few photos but things were pretty quiet and I only managed to get this cute little wren. (Better viewed in Large)

Lots of sports on TV today, football, basketball and hockey.  It was a late hockey game for us for our son's team because they were playing at home in Las Vegas (Pacific time) so that always means we don't get to bed before 1 a.m.  

I haven't mentioned hockey much this season as things have been off to a rocky start, with 7 or 8 of their top players out with injuries for this first part of the season.  Fortunately, the rest of the team was able to hold their own and win enough games to stay competitive and keep a playoff spot.  Over the past few weeks, the injured players have slowly returned to the line-up.  Only their top player, newly acquired, will remain out until February after having neck surgery.  The rest of the season is looking very promising.
