'They Play Football!?'
"Real American football, or soccer?"
"Got to be American".
"No, it's soccer in England."
"Rugby - they play rugby in England!"
You've got to love the Americans - young tourists at that. And the conversations that waft over the breezes at Old Sarum.
The view they are looking at, below the lip of this rampart bank has some of Salisbury's playing fields, plus the a whole vista of a landscape. On L (large) you can see the cathedral spire.
This was a grab shot - taken at the 10mm wide end of the 10-24mm and is cropped 80% from the bottom. I somehow just loved the separation of the figures and them pointing - and their enthusiasm and for what, which may well differ from my priorities, but that's what is great about 'folk'.
As the lens is pointing up - and they're at the very bottom, the angle upwards is very pronounced, which I also liked.
The rest of image was just burned out sky and lots of tree, from the left. I burned in what sky there is, above them. I've never put up a really wide letterbox image before on Blip (don't do panoramas) so this is bit of an experiment.
The view from up there is great and pretty and you can watch it unfold for hours but a photo of that doesn't say much, hopefully this does - don't know.
Now that everybody is back from the long holiday weekend, I am preoccupied with getting my health needs back on track - phone calls and all that. Am in quite a bad emotional space and so Blip may have to take a back seat, for a bit.
