Bees in a box

A very chilly slow day - slept SO badly last night that I wasn't functioning today till about 4pm, when I went out for a local walk..

Our local museum has always had bees in a glass sided 'hive' to watch. There is a perspex 'tunnel' for them to use to go outside. In summer you can watch the doing the 'dance' when they come back, to direct other bees to good sources of pollen. the queen has a white spot painted on the back, but I cannot remember having seen her.
The hive has been there for at least 16 years.
