The first mince pies of the year
I don't have a sweet tooth but I love a mince pie.
I made today's batch using shop bought 'luxury' mincemeat and was reminded why I normally make my own filling!
Tomorrow I will do that!
My own version is an adaptation of a recipe by Nigella. I'm not overfond of her recipes as they tend to be a bit "fur coat and no knickers", however it's a good starting point. I will post my recipe tomorrow and you can see what you think.
