Change in Balat

Here is my new neighborhood but there is a big transformation in the area. As we renovate the old houses former owners ask for high prices for their historically valued houses. People who wants to live in a historical area pay quite good amount of money and pay whatever they ask. Mostly the inhabitants of the area came from Anatolian cities of Turkey for better life standards and now they can sell their property and go back to hometowns. However for some of them this story is not very pleasant and voluntary. They leave because they don't fit with changing situations of the city. Life is getting more expensive here in Istanbul and the area is becoming a touristic spot. We may see "no more" hanging clothes in the streets in a couple of years.
