Christmas Reindeer
Our very own little bright light. We stopped at the display in our new little town and were delighted with this . Na'iema ran around to all the lights and trees and figures, listening to the Christmas music. It was a pretty impressive display, but I left my phone in the car and just wanted to enjoy the moment. She kept coming back to this one little bear that fit her size perfectly. Then off to the airport and in a flash the weekend was over.
Thank you all so much for your stars, hearts and especially the sweet comments.
Logan has given our traditional values and appearances a stretch for acceptance, but the fact that at the heart of it all, his values are good, his work ethic inspirational and his love for his family admirable - we can only sit back and watch the man he is becoming. He's a fun dad with unlimited patience and teaching constantly in a loving way. At 28 years old, he has had to face some pretty daunting challenges, not the least of which losing his big sister who he adored from the moment he understood who she was. Sumner was his inspiration in sports and achievements. His role model for school and his own inspiration for a free spirit. His tattoos represent some of the scars he has healed but underneath it all, he is growing and learning and accepting himself and those who matter.
I'm going back to New Hampshire on Friday because they had planned on taking a trip to check out an area closer to us in Georgia and I agreed to come and babysit so they could. They quickly changed their mind but said come anyway and we can "hang out" since the tickets were already purchased. How could I say no to that? It will give me a chance to connect with some dear friends too just before the holidays and the move into our new home which looks like it will take place on the December 15th. Texas and Houston in particular are calling them, so they have to go there for now. Life is full of surprises and we'll see what the next chapters bring for all of us.
