Skullduggery (skull study)
Yesterday, while walking in a bit of wild, C & Maica found an intact skeleton of a young male white-tailed deer. I, of course, had to go see it. So this morning Fletcher, C and I went to take a look. It's bones had been carefully cleaned by hungry critters and decomposers and there was only a bit of brown fur on his forehead and on one back leg. The mandible (lower jaw) had been dragged off a ways and C had repositioned it. My plan was to take the skull home but when I saw it. I decided to allow the deer's remains to rest in peace...one piece. Fletcher was slightly interested in the bones but said that he prefers cow femurs stuffed full of peanut butter. He's so spoiled!
