Home, sweet home
Today I didn't venture far; in fact just far enough to photograph a house sparrow which has made its home in one of our swift boxes. We are very happy to provide a home for the sparrows,as they were absent from our garden for many years. However, this spring, a couple of pairs discovered the two boxes we had put under the eaves in the hope of getting swifts to nest, and they have reared families and stayed on. We now hear them, daily, cheeping and disputing from dawn onwards. In the summer, we saw swifts flying overhead, so they may have noted our boxes for next year.
