Who’d a thunk it?
“Blipfoto is not just another photo sharing service. At its heart is a simple concept: to upload one photo you create each day, add some words if you want, and by so doing build a record of your life one day at a time.“
~ About Us, Blipfoto
Thank you to Joe Tree for creating the site and for allowing others to join him. Thanks to those who worked behind the scenes, unbeknownst to the rest of us, to create a plan to keep us going. Thanks to those who contributed to the crowdfunding campaign, and thanks to the volunteers who selflessly keep it going. You never realize what you have until you (almost) lose it.
I’m so proud to be a member of this community; to be amongst the most compassionate, kind people in the world; who suffer with those who (are or) have suffered and who experience and share each other’s joys as if they were their own.
I have had the pleasure of posting 4000 blips in 4000 days. Some a lot better than others. But where else will you get as many views and comments on a beat up pair of sneakers as you would on a rare bird or a blooming onion cactus. Something special is floating in our digital air!!
So, from southern Arizona between Tucson and Mexico, and from the Sonoran desert to Madera Canyon in the Santa Rita mountains, thanks for hanging with me through all the pain and laughter. I promise to post more of the latter. Well, I’ll try!!
Laurie xx
PS Please keep my dear friend Melanie’s (WVgirl) partner David in your prayers.
…. An hour after I wrote the above, David passed away. For those who have already come and gone, I will post it again tomorrow. In the meantime, it would be nice if you could visit her journal.
