Where the Light Gets In

By DHThomas

Big day!

all those hands on walls
a gallery of portraits—
two years back in time

A nice turnout at the reception for the opening of my exhibition: patients, of course (which was nice, as they'll be the primary "visitors" of the exhibition), but also officials from the hospital and the gallery, as well as guests (a friend of mine came for a little while: he works nearby and lives even closer!) and members of the press (from three different papers). It was strange to be interviewed, but it was to speak about my work, so it all went well!

Another long day after the printing rush on Wednesday: I had to drive up to the gallery (another hour and a half) to have the photos framed, then we went to the centre to hang them. A different feeling at each stage: seeing them printed, seeing them framed, seeing them hung... Very nice feelings! And them hearing them being praised was something else!

They'll be there for two months now. I guess I'll go visit with people who couldn't be here at the opening...

I'm posting this on Friday and one of the journalists has already published his paper!
