A Prairie Allegiance
Today's image is not actually a Mid Western prairie, which scientists believe was created by a variety of factors, including climate, soil and topography in North America east of the Rocky Mountains in an area that receives less rain due to the rising air currents over the mountains but a past its best flowerbed of ornamental grasses in the Royal British Legion Village just over the road from where I live (sorry about the long sentence - there probably should be some more punctuation in there somewhere!). Although at a stretch you could make a very tenuous case for the nearby North Downs being our own version of a mountain range!
