De-icing Clann an Caladar
A frosty morning, but no snow. I was up at 5am, so the snow must have started about 8am? Mostly sunny all day at Sumburgh, with some wintery showers. If it wasn't for social media, I would have been oblivious to the amount of snowfall over the rest of Shetland. Driving home was slow, with moorie (blizzard) conditions. More snow showers tonight.
Last early shift of the week. A busy day in the airport, and on the check-in desk first thing. Meeting and boarding planes the rest of the morning. Various delays all day, some due to weather, our Edinburgh plane got stuck in Isle of Man for a bit. Sammy loved his walkies in the snow this evening, and popped by to play with Keba in the snow. Feet up by the fire now.
A couple of our planes were delayed for takeoff today, while they de-iced them. The truck came down, with David in the basket, and washed over the plane. There was various showers that caused problems. Probably a regular sight in winter for most staff, but for me and Wayne, it was great to see how it was done. De-icing ATR 42, Clann an Caladar, taken at Sumburgh Airport.
Extra was snowy West Voe beach at lunchtime, and Scalloway this evening.
