Different

It’s very different this season, this year. For a huge variety of reasons. So we will get creative. Today is the first day of advent, and normally she’d have her calendars and delight in the decorations that come with the advent calendars have arrived. The nativity set comes out on 1st. But this year, I got a lovely text about her chocolate from her calendar our friend gave her (she didn’t want mine at school, it’s Lego). Then we decided we would do our wooden advent calendar together over messages. I sent her a photo of all its decorations. She’s going to choose the daily bauble each day and I’ll send her an update photo!

She’s had a good couple of days. It was too noisy in the house but she was chatty on WhatsApp and sent some happy messages. And a crazy video of her singing and dancing to the Barney song. Her friends film tiktoks. She does Barney. In a purple spotty onesie.

Anyway....I now have a (currently bare) Christmas in situ. I’m going to put the nativity under it as always. It’s what we do first!
