Burn it up....
A very cold, but dry and sunny, Easter weekend offered an opportunity to catch up on some garden tasks that had not been possible during the long, wet autumn and winter. Today that meant a huge bonfire of tree clippings/fallings, topped by several pieces of wormeaten furniture that had huge sentimental value but were now a menace. Our tinder was hay from the loft, seen carried here by an enthusiastic star blipper. In the background are the axes I've been using to turn the pruned apple boughs into next year's kindling; and on the right the car that brought our first cottage visitors of the new season.
The blaze was over in little more than minutes, everything was so dry - see folio.
Definitely too cold for this sort of thing.
