Santa Claus came to town!
Well, to Hellifield anyway. I was already in my jim jams but ran out to take a photo anyway. The little boys across the road were so excited. Then a man from the Rotary Club knocked at the door collecting money. He was lucky to get anything - we never have cash these days but managed to scrape some change together. I’d already plundered mine and Frank’s bags this morning for loose change for the window cleaner. I think we have about 60p left!
All the snow has gone :-( and we were left with a dull, mizzly day. I only ventured out to the village shop for bread, stamps and a paper.
Then I went out again this afternoon to the surgery for prescriptions.
I love having these plus the Post Office close at hand now we’re getting older especially as I don’t drive. We also have the local pub which I don’t frequent as often as Frank and Bella ;-D and a chippy which we don’t use as everything is fried in animal fat :-/.
Frank is upstairs wrapping Christmas presents, I will have to get on with mine too.
Sabrina was telling me that Amelia had walked into the garage (which was meant to be locked - naughty Johnnie!) to speak to her Dad but he was in the front garden and had forgotten to lock it up. She saw some of the presents that were ‘hidden’ in there and came running in to Sabrina crying. She said ‘ Mummy, I’ve done something terrible! I’ve totally ruined Christmas because I saw the presents!’ She was so upset. It took some consoling to make her feel less bad about it. Sabrina was upset about it too but she had to hide her reaction till she got Johnnie on his own! ;-[]
She hadn’t seen all the things.
We laughed later on though, because I said if that had been Lucy she wouldn’t have been upset, she would have come running in shouting,
‘Look what I found!
Those two are so different!
Nothing much else to report today.
Hope your day was good.
Goodnight ;-) X
