Swanning About

Its been a busy Easter weekend with our community tearoom opening last Friday. Mrs B and 2 other ladies have voluntarily worked their socks off to keep visitors and locals well fed and watered. The proceeds from the holiday weekend and the following 2 weekends will help bolster our community business funds, which took a serious hit during the refurbishment of the tearoom.

On Easter Monday the Forestry Commission organise a Bunny Hunt from the Network Centre, which brings in lots of families all looking for a bite to eat or, particularly today, a warm drink. 136 children registered for the Bunny Hunt and it was great to see them all enjoying themselves. I would have loved to blip some of the action, but I got roped into washing and drying dishes at lunchtime and my hands hardly came out the sink until half four. No wonder they were all wrinkled!

As the skies cleared in the afternoon, I decided to nip over to Torrisdale before heading home to get a different angle on snow covered Arran. Its unheard of for snow to be lying at sea level on Arran for well over a week in the middle of Winter, far less for it to hang around for so long at the start of April.

Oh, and a swan decided to get into the blip - hence the title!
