Help at hand
The Salvation Army emergency Response van came to the village last night and this morning as we have had no power since Storm Arwen hit on Friday night. They offered hot drinks, bacon rolls and phone charging for those who needed it. Most of the houses are all electric so by Sunday people were pretty cold. A few of us were lucky. And got power back for a few hours before it all went off again today for repairs to be completed but most were off for over two days. A lot of the houses have no alternative to their electric storage heating so were really cold by Sunday.
We were very grateful for the help and information provided. They moved on to another area that needed help at lunchtime.
2 days without power is the worst I’ve experienced since I moved here but we have been a lot more fortunate than further north where there are areas snowed in and still without power.
when the power came back on I saw that the broadband was down but that was restore today too.
I’ve posted a couple of back blips for the days I couldn’t get online.
