It Never Rains But It Snows

An early day of genny action, to get us heated up and showered then off out for the day. It snowed overnight, not a lot, but enough to liven up my favourite view, and for Arlo to get all excited again. His first 6 weeks with us in mid January were full of snow and he probably wondered where it went, but he remembered when he went out.

A pre-birthday meal for Granny P with fam was had before returning to our power starved home, so genny back on for a few hours to heat up. There's supposedly 45,000 homes without power up the east coast of Scotland, most of them are in far more populated areas than ours, so we're used to be last to be switched on.

On Saturday the power company said it would be restored in the evening, when that went past it was tonight at 6pm, then 10pm, now it is 10pm tomorrow night. I am pretty sure they have no idea but I wish they would provide a more accurate estimate - we're all making decisions based on their estimates. We're coping fine, it's just a hassle, there's enough power coming in for some lights, tv, internet and charging etc, with the genny on we can power the heating, but the fridge/freezer is on and not cooling, it's colder outside, -5c just now. I still don't know why the 2 cottages next to us don't have any power, not even when we switch to the genny. It was a week long power outage some 20 years ago, when we decided get a generator installed and plumbed in... OMG, I am now reminiscing about pre-genny times, meaning I need to post this...
