Kalb'sches Haus
This building is the oldest "Fachwerkhaus" (half-timbered house) in Reinheim. (The website is in German only, sorry.)
In short: the building was built in 1450, on the land of the family Kalb. The estate was mentioned first in 1276, so must be older than that.
The knights of Kalb settled here in the 12th or 13th century.
After the Kalb family became extinct part of the estate came into the hands of landgrave Ludwig V. (the fifth Ludwig/Louis), who built the church next to the Kalb'sches Haus.
In 2011 the building was renovated and is since in use a restaurant.
