After the thunderstorm

Last night we had a thunderstorm and this morning we woke to sleet on the ground, snow on the hills and a spectacular sunrise. I went out before breakfast to take a few shots. At midday we met up with friends who took us for a drive into Italy for lunch. The food was fabulous and we drove on to Menaggio on the shores of lake Como and had a wander round. Coming home we took the lakeside road south and then over the mountains through the winter wonderland. What a lovely day out we had.
