Advent Sunday

Well, we’re now into the season of gold, frankincense and myrrh, So here’s a little gold in the shape of a goldfinch. Whilst most bird species have declined dramatically since I was a lad, goldfinches have increased significantly, largely by adapting to using bird feeders in people’s gardens.

I don’t think I can recall Advent Sunday coinciding with the first snowfall of the year. But that’s been the story today.
