Having spent yesterday watching the wind creating phenomenal spray almost to the top of the lighthouse - and many thanks for your kind responses to that - then to wake up to a calm day - I was left wondering - where did Storm Arwen go?
Headed out from the YHA Snowden Llanberis on an easy track with the Llanberis Pass and Snowden Rail track adjacent to our left - no trains running through the winter apparently - then past Foel Gron and Foel Goch - overcast but with clear views, and for just a short time shafts of sunlight breaking through the clouds - my blip opportunity.
Different story at the summit 726m - Arwen reappeared - along with biting sleety rain and icy ground - cloud descended and views obliterated - fortunately relatively good paths and a steady incline down. Swift progress made - encouraged by the persistent rain. Good to get that mountain walk in and not one I’ve done before. Back for 2pm for more tea and cake!
