Autumn Leaves
Every fall, the company that is contracted to mow and take care of our park across the street completely rakes the park, bringing all the leaves out and placing them right across the street from our house awaiting pick-up. A large truck then comes along and mulches and vacuums the leaves to be taken to the mulching center.
This year, they finished the raking late on a Friday, so they have not yet been cleared away. I estimate this pile of leaves to be 50-60 feet long and 15-20 feet wide and almost 3 feet deep in some sections. My husband had just finished removing all the leaves on our lawn so he was feeling some consternation that if a wind came along, we'd end up with more leaves than we started with. Fortunately, that has not happened yet and this pile of leaves has been a delight for many children in the neighborhood, including our little granddaughter (who is 4 and 3/4 as she always clarifies) who is featured here.
#3 son and his family arrived yesterday for a week so it is full-on for Thanksgiving. It is such a delight to have them here and we are looking forward to one of our older granddaughters flying in to join us on Weds along with #2 son who lives nearby.
