The birds.
A fine sunny morning, but a very heavy frost.
It was freezing cold when we went out for our walk. The pavements were treacherous as the slush had frozen solid, and lots of black ice.
However enjoyed walking to the pond. Most of it frozen but a small part had been broken which pleased the ducks.
We also saw a few blackbirds enjoying feeding on the hawthorn berries.
Back home about 11.30am just as the snow started falling.
A quick coffee, and then set off to Sainsbury’s Halifax for our Click and Collect. By this time it was snowing heavily and the roads had started getting busy.
Picked up our order and started back. Got stuck in traffic because of road works, and by the time we reached Chain Bar roundabout it was settling on the road even with all the traffic.
Back home and our lane was a bit dodgy.
The trees looked beautiful though.
Spotted this wood pigeon sat in the tree with it’s feathers all fluffed out trying to keep warm.
Putting the shopping away had another phone call from my distant cousin with more bad news. Another cousin had just died from cancer.
She is the first relative of my generation to pass away, and a few years younger than me.
I am actually the eldest.
Listening to Sounds of the 70s with Johnnie Walker at the moment which is cheering us up as we singalong.
Hope you are all keeping safe and warm and having a good Sunday.
