Joey update

I went to Arnhem with Joey today, where we had an appointment at the Evidensia animal hospital. Martine was there four weeks ago and then Joey had an MRI scan of his brain to see if there is a reason for his epileptic seizures. They couldn’t find anything so he was started on medication. At first, Joey was not himself: he was walking around like he was drunk and didn’t have the energy to do anything. That took about two weeks and after that Joey’s character as we knew it started appearing again.

Today we were there for a checkup. His blood was tested to see if the medication was at the right level. It was, but barely so now the dose has been increased. In three months we should have his blood checked again and this will continue his entire life. Fortunately, we don’t have to go to Arnhem again: our local vet can take care of this.

Right now, Joey is OK and he hasn’t had any seizures since he was started on the medication. We’re hoping it will stay like this!
