Storm Arwen

That was a real screamer of a storm last night. We woke to dustbins in the garden and panes from the cold frame on the lawn. No real damage fortunately. But I walked up the driveway with Pepper and discovered five full grown trees had come down and been hauled off the road. Three were Scots pines that took the brunt of it as they were on the crest of the hill, and fell very close to the Lodges. Also a beech tree and a good oak.
All very sad to see but Nature will fill the gaps, and I don’t suppose that’s the last of it this time as looks like next weekend will be rough too.
