Last call

Today's offering for Flower Friday is three of the now very desiccated roses that first appeared a couple of weeks ago.  From this week on, I won't be having flowers in the front room as we need to make way for a certain tree and the little table which usually has the flowers on it has to go to the hallway so that we can stand the Nativity advent calendar on it.
This afternoon we picked up Violet from school for an extra sleepover with us tonight.  We managed to pop into Costa before going home and the bad weather held off.  Storm Arwen is on its way but very likely will miss us here in West Essex.
In other news: a new variant of Covid-19 has been detected in South Africa and the UK has immediately put 6 countries on our red list.  The new variant may or may not be more transmissible/more deadly/more resistant to current vaccines.  Time will tell.
